Kalifornian's Kan't spell Kaptain's Kafe

This post is for my friend Jen who hates it when things are spelled with a K instead of a C. 

 During our drive home from the Redwoods we stopped in the sleepy town of Lucerne, CA. When we woke up, the only place to eat was at the Kaptain's Kafe. I just had to get a picture of it because I couldn't stop laughing at how much she would have despised this place because it was all spelled with a K. 

Even the sign on the sidewalk said "Kafe Open".

Garage Sale Monday

Last week I got a vase for a $1. I think someone was trying to get rid of all their decorations from a wedding because there were glass vases of all sizes. 

Rather than focusing on the vase, let's talk about those gorgeous flowers! Jeff's family gives out roses to all the females in the family on Mothers day. The past few years I have left mine at the party and only remembered about them when I got home. This year I was determined not to forget them. And look how beautifully they blossomed in my new vase!

New wardrobe for summer 2012

Dexter just got a whole new wardrobe. I found him a bunch of bright colorful bandannas at my work. So now he'll be strutting the sidewalks of Salt Lake in the latest spring and summer colors of 2012.

Fruit of the month club - May

When we decided to look for a house to buy my friend Jen referred us to our realtor Michael Hoffee. We had a great experience with him. He was super knowledgeable about Salt Lake homes and real estate. He even talked us out of making offers on terrible homes when we got desperate and thought we'd never find the perfect house for us. I appreciate qualities like that in a realtor.

We referred our friends to him and they just bought a house so he signed us up for a fruit of the month club as a thank you. We just got our first delivery of California strawberries. They were delicious!

Bear warnings for the Western US

There have been several bear warnings in the Western part of the Unites States; The California bear and the Utah bear. Both bears are dangerous and ferocious and should be avoided at all costs. 

When visiting California keep all food in bear lockers because a fed bear is a dead bear. When bears eat human food they become dangerous to humans and sometimes have to be killed.

When provoked, the Utah bear might do tricks for treats. Avoid giving him any treats as his farts will poison your nostrils.

Garage Sale Monday - The Redwoods

In the Redwoods there are these gross little things called Banana Slugs. They love cool, shady areas so they are all over the trails in the Redwoods. I thought they were gross.

Apparently some people must love them. I saw a banana slug paper weight in the gift shop. Who would want a slug sitting on their desk? Sure, it's a cool color and it's glass, but it's also a SLUG.

Price unknown. I was too busy thinking about the types of people that would want a slug on their desk to look at the price.
